Import Food Forum

Import Food Summit

China is the world's largest consumer of imported food. Meat, grains, aquatic products, fruit, dairy, and vegetable oils were the six major categories of China's food imported in 2022, with import value exceeding 10 billion dollars each, accounting for 79.1% of China's total food imports. Between January and September 2023, China imported 178.829 billion dollars of agricultural products, 159.779 billion dollars of food, and 23.977 billion dollars of meat. The market size of food imports will continue to expand as China continues to open up its market with customs clearance facilitation, and consumers' quest for quality and health also creates more opportunities for the sector.
